It's probably more amazing at this point that they haven't done more widespread executions of low-level people. Americans are very resistant to that - up to a point - because of some combination of laziness, vestigial principles, inertia and fear of consequences.

Nearly everyone knows this is a LARP and a way to be mad at the people they were already mad at. However, as the numbers grow, the odds of lone nuts carrying these out grow, too.

And as the involvement of established networks of extremists who aren't lazy/principled/inertial/afraid increases, the odds of more coordinated operations grow, as well.

And there's a huge - much huger than almost all Americans realize - amount of money being spent by those pesky billionaires to absolutely make this happen for reasons that have nothing to do with what the LARPers want.

For me at this point, it's a question of how the large mass of American society - leftists, centrists, people disinterested in politics and right-wingers who start to see a real possibility of societal breakdown - will react.
